What? Glass tile? Paul Frank sells glass tile? Is that supposed to be Home Depot or Lowes' or other building materials showroom's business? How come the cool, cute, lovely design company selling something down to earth?
Well, back to 2010, Paul Frank's creative director had an idea that using the cute Paul Frank cartoon icons such as big mouth monkey image to make glass mosaic tile, which can be used for children's bathroom, or children's playroom, even on McDonalds' children play place, as wall tiles. Imagine how exciting and surprising children will see their favorite cartoon figures like big mouth monkey on their bathroom or playroom!
We at Home Elements ( believe it is a great idea and we spent 2 weeks to make the samples, and then another 1 month to improve it. Below is the old samples we had in hand now (yes, they are a little bit dusty and beat up, these are samples made in 2010, 3 years ago):

Making this kind of glass mosaic tile takes new technology. This is glass tile that you can install on the wall and the color supposed to stay on the back of the tile for long time even lifetime.
So this is not just print the cartoon image on the back of the glass, but these tiles need to go through high temperature kiln to "bake" the color to make it become part of the glass, so the color will not fade.
The biggest challenge is how to control the color still reflect the original color of the original cartoon figures, and all the delicate figure profiles are still there without be damaged, under such a high temperature. Very few glass mosaic tile factories have the technologies. We, Home Elements, with a 20-year glass tile manufacturing and R&D experience is one of the few manufacturers.
